WORRYWORRY Releases Debut Album — and it’s OUTSTANDING / January 6, 2024 / by The Sound Sniffer / original

A very early contender for our album of the year was released yesterday by London-based WORRYWORRY via FolkBoy Records : a carefully curated 10-song record titled Worried about Worrying which fuses together artistry in its highest form, pained lyrical honesty and just sheer heart-wrenching beauty. An album for those looking for a little escape from the hustle and bustle of life. An album that has the undoubted quality to capture the attention of those who discover it and root itself deep within.

In a digital age with rapidly diminishing attention-spans, it’s very refreshing to see there are still beautiful independant full length albums floating around. It’s looking like, at this very early stage of 2024, that WORRYWORRY has released an album that will stand strong in ’24 and beyond. An artist who has been around for a number of years and has already captured the hearts and minds of thousands online, this album will be lapped up by his devotes. It’s been brewing. Now it’s here.

I won’t go too in-depth with my own rambling reactionary words describing WORRYWORRY’s new release. It’s an album I feel is so open and honest in its lyricism that it speaks for itself. Each individual listener who finds the album will be able to gravitate to their own favourite / deeply impactful moments and draw their own representations : each song harbouring intense depth and showcasing sublime musicianship.

For me, I’ve found early listens to Worried about Worrying best served on noise-cancelling headphones staring out the window of a London Metropolitan line tube as the world passes by. Zoning out; to let the lyrics bring me onwards into the inner workings of WORRYWORRY’s mind. Refreshing purity on a 10-song trip from zone 7 – 1.

There is a beautiful freeness displayed in this release which makes it special. Please give it a listen.

Our Highlight tracks from the Album:

  • Track 1: I’m not ready for this…

  • Track 2: Turn the other way

  • Track 7: Ballygowan

  • Track 10: you’re the rainfall…
